CEDAR CITY, Utah - Southern Utah University men's tennis suffered a 7-0 conference defeat to Eastern Washington on Wednesday morning, dropping to 0-9 on the year. The Eagles moved to 6-9 and 3-3 in Big Sky Conference play with the win.

Troy Benson, playing at No. 1 singles, and Russ Christensen, playing at No. 4 singles, took the most games in their respective matches. Benson, playing Eastern Washington's Joseph Cohen, lost 6-0, 6-2 with Christensen taking his two games in the first set in a 6-2, 6-0 loss to Kyle Koetje.

Benson and Bryton Wells took the first game in their doubles match, but ultimately fell at No. 1 to the Eagles' Cohen and Eduardo Martinez, 8-2.

Southern Utah will be back in action tomorrow morning, hosting Idaho State on the Thunderbird Tennis Courts at 10:00 a.m.
