CEDAR CITY, Utah. - Southern Utah University women's tennis will travel to Grand Forks, N.D., this weekend to face fellow first-year Big Sky Conference opponent North Dakota.
The Thunderbirds will enter the contest on a three-match winning streak, including a pair of conference victories over Eastern Washington and Idaho State last week. SUU is currently 8-5 on the year and 3-2 in conference play.
The streak has also included strong individual performances, including winning streaks at singles from Alex Ivanova (eight), Veronika Rogova (five), Anastasiia Vasileva (three) and Madeline Skaras (two). Rogova and Vasileva also have a five-match winning streak at No. 2 doubles and Skaras has joined Afton Staheli for back-to-back wins at No. 3 doubles.
The match at UND will coincide with Senior Day as North Dakota will honor its two seniors on the roster: Mindy Lawrence and Megan Sween. The contest is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. (MT).
Scouting North Dakota
The University of North Dakota will enter the match on Saturday with an overall record of 3-13, including a 0-5 mark in Big Sky Conference play. UND is currently riding a five-match losing streak.
