MISSOULA, Mont. - Southern Utah University women's tennis squared the match at 2-2 with a pair of wins in singles, but the University of Montana came back with three singles wins of its own to post the 5-2 victory over the Thunderbirds on Tuesday. The loss drops the T-Birds to 10-7 on the year and 5-4 in the Big Sky Conference.

Montana swept all three doubles matches to get the doubles point and then won at No. 4 singles to take an early 2-0 lead. However, the Thunderbirds countered with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 singles to tie the match at 2-2. Alex Ivanova, playing at No. 2, won her 11th consecutive match with a 6-3, 6-2, straight-set victory over Montana's Laurence Pelchat. Freshman Veronika Rogova recovered from a poor first set, one she lost 6-1, to come back and post a 7-5, 6-1 victory over the final two sets at No. 3 singles.

Two more singles matches were stretched to three sets with Southern Utah falling in each. Olya Kunz won her first set 7-5 over Heather Davidson at No. 1 singles, but ultimately fell 6-3, 6-1 as the matched progressed. Anastasiia Vasileva and Montana's Precious Gbadamosi swapped sets at love in the first and second frames, but it was Gbadamosi that captured the final set 6-1 for the win.

A final win by the Grizzlies at No. 6 singles led to the final tally of 5-2.

Southern Utah will wrap up its regular season on Thursday, hosting Weber State on Senior Day. The match will be played at the Green Valley Resort & Spa in St. George, Utah with doubles anticipated to begin at 2:00 p.m.
