CEDAR CITY, Utah - Nov. 20 - Southern Utah harriers Sharla Manuele and Cameron Levins have been named to the 2009 NCAA Mountain Region all-region team after their finishes at the 2009 NCAA Mountain Regionals last weekend.  Both athletes recorded the top spot for the Thunderbirds at the meet as both crossed the finish line in 22nd place in their respective races.

The all-region award is given out by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association and recognizes the top 25 finishers in each region meet.  Levins finished the 10k course in Albuquerque in 31:06.4 while Manuele finished the women's 6k course in 21:36.2.  Both athletes narrowly missed out on an at-large berth to the NCAA National Championships, but will now prepare for the indoor track and field season.

The Thunderbirds will start competition in the indoor season when Southern Utah travels to Pocatello, Idaho to participate in the Bengal Shootout on January 16.
