Sadie Palmer and
Kaohi Loo each shot 74 Friday to lead Southern Utah's women to the team championship at the Weber State Invitational. SUU shot 304 as a team to finish ahead of host Weber State (307), Utah Valley (311) and Idaho State (331) in the four-team field.
Palmer and Loo finished tied for third, one shot behind WSU's Kelsey Adams and Jordan Ulibarri, who finished tied in first place. The tournament was played at the par 71, 6,103-yard Davis Park Golf Club in Kaysville, Utah.
“I'm pretty happy with the way we played,” SUU Coach
Richard Church said. “All five of the team players finished in the 70s and Sadie had an impossible putt on 18 or she would have finished tied for first. Kaohi showed us something too, she's a gamer.”
Kacy Buckner and
Brittany Edwards finished tied for eighth at 78 while Jamie Coking was another shot back in 15th place. SUU freshman Rose Pellatier, playing as an individual, shot 90.
