CEDAR CITY, Utah - Sept. 6 - Elijah Rono garnered his first career Summit League Athlete of the Week honors after a first-place finish at the Idaho State Invitational last weekend.

Rono led the Thunderbirds to victory and a perfect score of in the 6k race with his time of 19:01.30. His time also helped him break into the Southern Utah record books, ranking third in the SUU course records at Idaho State.

Rono will be back to competed with the rest of the T-Birds on when they travel to Riverside, Calif. for the UC Riverside Invitational on Sept. 17.
