42 Thunderbirds Named to Fall Academic all-Summit League Teams

CEDAR CITY, Utah - Jan. 26 - Southern Utah University student-athletes have been recognized with 42 citations to the Academic all-Summit League teams for the fall semester. Women's cross country tops the list with 13 honors, followed by women's soccer and volleyball with 11 and men's cross country with seven.

Included in the 42 individuals receiving the award are 30 distinguished scholars that recorded a grade-point average of at least 3.60 or higher during the semester in which they competed. Student-athletes needed at least a 3.0 GPA or higher in the semester in which they compete to be named to the academic all-league teams.

In all, 517 student-athletes throughout the Summit League were named to the all-academic team with 272 of those named distinguished scholars.
