PRIMM, Nev., April 23 - Southern Utah's Jake Holt and Monica Jung were tied for third place in the respective men's and women's Summit League golf championships after day-one at the tournament, being held at the Primm Valley Golf Club.

Holt shot 2-under par 140 to sit tied with Oakland's Jake Cunningham in third place, eight shots off the pace of IUPUI's Ben Engle, who tore up the par 71, 7,062-yard Desert Course with an opening round 62 ­- including a hole-in-one and another eagle within a span of three holes - before finishing with a 70. IUPUI's Micahel Davan was second at 7-under par 135.

Jung was tied with Oral Roberts' Alheli Moreno at 4-over par 148, six shots behind North Dakota State's Amy Anderson, who at 142 was the only woman to break par. ORU's Tiffany Robbins was second at 3-over 147.

As a team the men shot 278-288 to sit tied with IPFW (279-287) in second place at 566, 10 shots off the pace of IUPUI, which was at 12-under par 556 after the second round.

SUU's women shot 308 and 312 to sit in fourth place at 44-over par 620, nine shots behind leader Oral Roberts (297-314) and just three behind second place UMKC (308-309, 617). North Dakota State was third at 619 (306-313).

SUU's men had a total of three players in the top-10, as Jeff Evans fired an opening round 66 before finishing with a 75 in the afternoon to turn in a score of 1-under par 141 for a share of sixth, while Sammy Cole was ninth after rounds of 72 and 70 put him at even par 142. Brad Millard (70-75) was 18^th at 145 while Nic Booth (70-78) sits in 29^th at 148 heading into Tuesday's final round.

On the women's side Kaohi Loo was also among the top-10 after day-one, after rounds of 79 and 73 put her at 8-over par 152 and tied for eighth place. Brittany Edwards (79-80) shot 159 for a share of 24^th place, while Jamie Coking Millard (79-83) was 31^st at 162 and Kacy Buckner (78-77) shot 164 and was in 37^th place heading into the final round.

Tee times for the final round begin with the Thunderbird women scheduled to start at 7:30 and the men at 8:20.
