VANCOUVER, B.C. - Nov. 24 - Southern Utah alum Cameron Levins continued his post-collegiate cross country career on Saturday afternoon by defeding his national title for the second consecutive year at the Canadian XC Championship.

Levins led the field in Vancouver on Saturday with a 29:41.55 finish in the Senior Men's 10k, followed by second-place runner Mohammed Ahmed less than a second later with a time of 29:42.07. Levins also competed alongside Ahmed in the men's 10k at the 2012 London Olympics, finishing 11th while Ahmed finished 18th. Ahmed's younger brother Ibrahim is currently a freshman on Southern Utah's cross country and track & field team.

This race marked Levins' third consecutive win at the Canadian XC Championship. The 23-year-old raced to his first national title in 2010 during his redshirt season at SUU. He led the field again in 2011, only five days after racing to a fourth-place All-American finish at the NCAA National Championship.

The current Thunderbird squad has wrapped up its 2012 cross country season and is now preparing for the indoor track & field season, set to begin in January.
