CEDAR CITY, Utah - Southern Utah University women's gymnastics will host its annual Red/White Preview on Friday night, providing fans a sneak peek of the 2013 season. The Thunderbirds will split into two teams and compete in a condensed meet with the event scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Centrum Arena.

In addition, fans will have the opportunity to purchase Flippin' Birds' shirts for a reduced price, that night only, for $8. Fans should be aware that only cash or check will be able to be accepted. Also, the SUU gymnastics squad will be signing posters immediately following the meet.

The 2013 Flippin' Birds roster will consist of only three upperclassmen - seniors Alyssa Click, Caitlin Kennedy and Michaela Chernoch - and 11 underclassmen, including five sophomores and six freshmen.

"This will be a great practice for us," head coach Scott Bauman said of the Friday meet. "We have a young roster and will have athletes competing on events that they didn't last year. I'm sure there will be some bugs, but it will be great to compete in front of our home crowd and see how things go."
