Four T-Birds Earn Academic All-American Sky Honors

CEDAR CITY, Utah, July 8 – Four Southern Utah University golfers have earned Academic All-American Sky Conference honors, the ASC has announced.

Sammy Cole, Jake Holt, Taylor Schone and Brady Welburn all earned a spot on the squad by posting a grade point average of 3.2 or better and being a member of the competition squad.

Cole, a sophomore from Aliso Viejeo, Calif., adds the academic all-ASC award to his list of honors which includes the 2012-13 SUU Athletic Department’s Top Male Scholar Award as well as two Top T-Bird Awards after maintaining a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA in economics and finance.

Holt, a junior from Tooele, Utah, is majoring in biology, while Schone, a junior from St. George, Utah, is a construction management major and Welburn, a freshman from Nephi, Utah, has not yet selected a major course of study.
