ARROYO GRANDE, Calif., Oct. 29 - Sadie Palmer was in ninth place and Kaohi Loo was 16th as Southern Utah held sole possession of fourth place heading into Tuesday's final round at Cal Poly's 17 team Lamkin Grip Mustang Invitational.

Palmer shot an opening-round 74 to sit just three shots off the pace, while Loo shot 76 at the par 73, 6,040-yard Cypress Ridge Golf Club. Sonoma State's Spencer Heller, Cal State Monterey Bay's Audra Kepler and UC Riverside's Savannah Vilaubi shared the lead at 2-under par 71.

Northern Arizona held the team lead at 301, followed by UC Riverside at 304, Cal State San Marcos at 306 and SUU at 308. Cal State Northridge was fifth at 311 with Gonzaga another shot back at 312.

Rounding out SUU's entry Monica Jung was 26th at 78, with Nicole Thomas 38th at 80 and Rose Pelletier 92nd at 91. Three Thunderbirds are competing as individuals, with Jamie Millard and Rynae Baca tied in 76th at 87 and Brittany Edwards in 99th at 99.
