CEDAR CITY, Utah - Southern Utah University women’s tennis will be back in action this weekend, facing UNLV in a dual match on Friday afternoon.

The Thunderbirds will enter the match having split its most recent contests after a 5-2 defeat at CS Fullerton and a 4-3 win at UC Riverside, the first victory over the Highlanders in program history.

Southern Utah will be the second opponent in the same day for UNLV with the Rebels hosting San Jose State that morning at 10:00 a.m. before the match with the T-Birds at 2:00 p.m.

SUU last played UNLV in 2009, suffering a 7-0 sweep to the Rebels in Las Vegas.

Smashing Debut

SUU freshman Veronika Rogova has had a strong start to her collegiate career, beginning 2013 undefeated with three consecutive wins at No. 2 singles and three consecutive victories at No. 2 doubles.

Conference Honors

Because of her great start, Rogova was recently named the Big Sky Women’s Tennis Player of the Week (2/12).
