LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Southern Utah University women's tennis suffered its first sweep on the season in falling 7-0 to a nationally-ranked UNLV squad on Friday.

The Rebels entered the match ranked No. 58 in the nation and opened the day with a contest against San Jose State. UNLV was upset by the Spartans, 4-3, but came out to take straight-set victories over the Thunderbirds in all but No. 3 singles.

Alex Ivanova, playing at No. 3, captured her first set against UNLV's Nives Pavlovic, 6-1, but lost the second by the same score, 6-1. the match went into a third-set tiebreaker with Pavlovic earning the victory 10-4.

Freshman Veronika Rogova encountered her first loss of the season at No. 2 singles, playing to a 7-6 loss in the first set and then dropped the match 6-1 in the second.

Southern Utah will be back on the court in March when the Thunderbirds travel to California for three matches, March 8-11.
