Three Freshmen Earn Academic All-WAC Honors

CEDAR CITY, Utah - Southern Utah University freshmen Arlyn Amor, Baylie Divino and Natalie Trejo have been named to the academic all-WAC freshmen/transfer teams after successful seasons in the classroom and on the competition floor.

The trio each had at least a 3.00 cumulative grade point average and participated in at least 50 percent of the team's contests in order to be eligible for the award. All three actually had GPA's greater than a 3.5 and appeared in every meet this season, with the exception of Divino who was absent in the vault lineup only once.

Divino finished her first season averaging better than a 9.700 on vault, scoring a career-best 9.775 on the event against Sacramento State.

Amor competed on bars in every meet in 2013 and also appeared on vault and floor throughout the year. She finished the season ranked fourth on the squad with a 9.719 average on bars and recorded one of the top marks on floor with a 9.800 at UCLA to open the year.

Trejo competed in every meet on beam and floor for the Thunderbirds in 2013, finishing the year with season averages of 9.717 and 9.631, respectively. She was the lone freshman to take home an individual title on the year, capturing first place on floor with a 9.750 at Utah State.
