SEDONA, Ariz., March 2 – Southern Utah’s Monica Jung shot a tournament record 69 in Sunday’s final round at Northern Arizona’s 18-team Red Rocks Invitational, moving her up 14 spots and into fourth place in the tournament played at Oak Creek Country Club.

Jung finished at 1-over par 145, four shots off the pace of NAU’s Jacquie LeMarr, who claimed the individual title at 3-under par 141, and two shots behind Xavier’s Ariel McNair and Grand Canyon’s Charlotte Jaengkit, who finished tied for second at 142.

As a team, Southern Utah finished 10th at 622, 34 shots behind team champ Xavier, which had three finishers in the top seven to finish 14 shots up on Sacramento State and NAU, who were tied for second at 602.

Rynae Baca was second among Thunderbirds in 25th place at 154 after two rounds of 77, while Taylor Viquelia (79-81) was 52nd at 160, Nicole Thomas (84-80) was 71st at 164 and Shantell Spackman (83-85) shot 168 to finish 86th.

Grand Canyon finished fourth at 604, followed by Cal Poly (613), Wichita State and Eastern Washington (616),  UC Riverside )617) and Seattle (618) was ninth. SUU finished 11 shots ahead of 11th place Utah Valley (633), while Oakland came in 12th at 634, followed by Weber State (635), Northern Colorado (643), British Columbia (655), IUPUI (663), Mesa Community College (667) and North Dakota (692).
