Men’s Tennis Continues Home Stand with UNC and UND

CEDAR CITY, Utah - Southern Utah University men’s tennis will continue its three-game home stand this week when the Thunderbirds host Northern Colorado and North Dakota on Monday and Tuesday. The matches will each be doubleheaders with the women’s team.

SUU is scheduled to face the Bears Monday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. and UND at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

Scouting Northern Colorado

Northern Colorado will enter the match on Monday with an overall record of 6-3, including a 4-1 mark in the Big Sky Conference. The Bears had been riding a six-match winning streak before suffering a 6-1 loss to Weber State on March 9.

Scouting North Dakota

North Dakota is currently 2-9 on the year with wins against Idaho State (5-2) and Nebraska Omaha (5-2). UND is currently on a six-match losing streak and playing at UNLV on Sunday night.

Women’s Tennis to Play Six Straight at Home

CEDAR CITY, Utah - Southern Utah University women’s tennis will start a six-match home stand this week when the Thunderbirds host Northern Colorado and North Dakota. The matches will be doubleheaders with the men with the women first on Monday and second on Tuesday.

The women will be looking to snap a four-match losing streak after back-to-back wins over UC Riverside and Dominican. The match against the Bears on Monday is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. with the match on Tuesday against UND slated for 2:00 p.m.

Scouting Northern Colorado

Northern Colorado will enter the match on Monday with an overall record of 6-5, including a perfect 4-0 record in the Big Sky Conference. The Bears have only dropped a combined four points in conference matches, taking Portland State, Weber State, Idaho State and Eastern Washington, 6-1, in each contest.

Southern Utah fell to the Bears last season in Greeley, 4-3, but picked up victories from the top three singles spots.

Scouting North Dakota

North Dakota will enter the match with an overall record of 5-7, including a 3-2 mark in Big Sky action. UND picked up its conference victories against Weber State (6-1), Idaho State (7-0) and Eastern Washington (4-3).

Southern Utah posted a 6-1 victory over UND last year in Grand Forks, falling only at the No. 6 singles spot.
