ST. GEORGE, Utah, March 18 – Freshman Taylor Viquelia finished in seventh place to lead Southern Utah’s women’s golf team to a 14th place finish at the BYU at Entrada Classic, held at the par 72, 6,015-yard Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club. Strong winds, particularly Monday afternoon, contributed to high scores throughout the field.

Viquelia notched her second straight top-10 finish after coming in at 16 over par 232 to finish in a tie with Kansas State’s Gianna Misenhelter in seventh, 10 shots off the pace of Wisconsin’s Alexis Nelson and Minnesota’s Anna Laorr, who both finished at 6-over par 222. Laorr was declared the individual champion via a scorecard playoff.

Viquelia finished tied for sixth in last week's SUU Invitational.

SUU shot a final round 324 on Tuesday to finish in 14th place at 988, two shots behind Wyoming and nine up on 15th place Utah Valley. Minnesota came in at 67 over par 931 to finish first, eight shots ahead of host BYU and 11 up on third place Wisconsin.

Monica Jung was second among Thunderbirds, in 41st place after a final-round 76 left her at 245 (85-84-76), while Nicole Thomas was 60th at 253 (82-87-84), Rynae Baca was 70th at 258 (83-87-88) and Shantell Spackman finished 75th at 261 (86-87-88).
