Richard Church is in his 17th season as head golf coach at Southern Utah University and his 21st as a member of the SUU golf staff. Church served as an assistant coach for the Thunderbirds for four seasons prior to taking over from former Coach John Evans in the fall of 2000. 

During his tenure as head or assistant coach at SUU, Church has coached 20 Academic all-Americans, 36 All-Conference players, one Mid-Continent Conference medalist, two Mid-Con runners-up, two conference players of the year, two Big Sky conference runner-ups, a Summit League runner-up and the University's only two NCAA post-season competitors in golf. Church has coached the Thunderbirds to seven 2nd place finishes in conference play.

John Evans is no stranger to SUU's golf program as he has nine years experience coaching our very own team. Evans also coached at Cedar High School off and on for ten years and during his tenure there coached his team to two State Golf Championships.

McArthur was born and raised in St George, Utah where he graduated from Dixie High School and Dixie State College with a degree in Marketing. In high school Reed was part of a 3-year running State Championship ('73-'75) medaling twice in his Junior year. McArthur later attended Weber State College and University of Utah on golf scholarships eventually turning professional in 1979.

SADIE PALMER   DANIEL BISHOFF

Sadie Palmer, who competed for the Thunderbirds from 2008-13, will return to Cedar City as an assistant coach for both the men’s and women’s teams.

Most recently, Palmer was an assistant coach at Westminster University.
