CEDAR CITY, Utah, April 9 – Yahosh Bonner, Southern Utah’s Director of Operations/Video for men’s basketball this past season, has accepted the position of head boys basketball coach at American Leadership Academy in Spanish Fork, Utah.
“Coach Bonner has added tremendous value to our team and program this past year,” Thunderbird head Coach Nick Robinson said. “We wish him all the best in his new role as he will be a great leader and mentor, both on and off the court.”
Bonner came to SUU from Western Nebraska Community College, where he served as an assistant coach from 2010 to 2013 and was instrumental in the Cougars’ success. Before beginning his coaching career, Bonner played at the University of Northern Colorado from 2008 to 2010 where he was captain and the Big Sky’s defensive player of the year his senior year and earned All American accolades as a defender in 2010.
“I have really enjoyed my time at Southern Utah,” Bonner said. “I’ve gained great experience, will earn my graduate degree, and I’m excited about the opportunity at ALA. I am very appreciative to SUU and Coach Nick Robinson for his mentorship and the opportunity to be a part of the T-Birds this past year.”
Coach Bonner, who will complete his masters degree from SUU in Professional Communication this summer, will begin his duties at ALA on June 1.
