BOISE, Idaho - Southern Utah University gymnastics recorded its highest team score on the road this season with a 195.600 at Boise State on Friday night highlighted by an all-around title by Michaela Chernoch. The senior from Naples, Fla. tallied a career-best 39.300 on four events, including a pair of 9.875's on beam and floor.

"I'm proud of how we came out here tonight and competed," head coach Scott Bauman said after the meet. "We got off to rocky starts on bars and floor, but the girls were able to bounce back and hit their routines and really helped us get a great score on the road."

Ana Jaworski began the meet for the T-Birds on bars and was unable to finish her routine after a fall, leading to no score being given on the routine. Jaworski put the fall behind her in future rotations, scoring a 9.750 on floor and a career-best 9.850 on the balance beam. The team also didn't allow the fall to affect their performances on bars with the next five competitors each hitting their routine.

Arlyn Amor led the way with a career-best 9.800 on the event and was followed by Chernoch (9.775), Caitlin Kennedy (9.725), Rochelle Bernier (9.700) and Jamie Armijo with a 9.675. The marks led to a team score of 48.675 with Boise leading off the meet with a 48.875 on vault.

Southern Utah's 48.775 on vault was made up of a trio of 9.775's from Armijo, Chernoch and Kennedy, marking a season high, and two 9.725's from Bernier and Baylie Divino. The Broncos widened the gap following the second rotation with a 49.250 on bars.

The Thunderbirds wrapped up the meet with a pair 49's of their own, notching a  49.025 on floor and a season-best 49.125 on the balance beam. Chernoch was tops on the team on both events with her 9.875's, but was followed closely on beam by Bernier, Jaworski and Trejo who each recorded a career-best 9.850. Kennedy closed out the team score on beam with a 9.700.

Jensen and Armijo were the next finishers for Southern Utah on floor with a season-best and career-best 9.825, respectively. Matching 9.750's from Jaworski and Kennedy completed the team score.

Boise State finished its meet with a 48.875 on beam and a 49.575 on floor for its eventual total of 196.575.

Chernoch's all-around title was paired with the top spot on the podium on the balance beam as the senior added to her team-best eight individual titles in 2013. Kennedy, a fellow senior, finished second in the all-around with a 38.950.

Southern Utah will close out the 2013 regular season with three consecutive meets at home, beginning with a dual meet with Brigham Young University on March 8.
