ST. GEORGE, Utah - After two rounds of play at the BYU at Entrada Classic, the Southern Utah women’s golf team currently sits in 11th place. The team shot a 319 in the first round and a 310 in the second round for a combined 629 on the day.
Senior Taylor Viquelia leads the Thunderbirds after two rounds, shooting a 75 in both rounds for a combined 150, putting her six-over for the day. Her score puts her in a tie for 16th on the leaderboard.
Freshman Poy Prasurtwong finished just one stroke behind Viquelia in a tie for 20th place. She shot a 77 in her first round and a 74 in her second for a combined 151 on the day.
Miranda Reyes finished third for the Thunderbirds and in sole possession of 54th place after two rounds. She shot an 82 in the first round and an 80 in the second round for a combined 162.
Kyla Smith and Nicole Jones rounded out the scoring for the Thunderbirds finishing in 60th and 62nd place respectively. Smith shot a combined 166 (85, 81) and Jones shot a 168 (86, 82).
Ashley Stubbs played as an individual for the Thunderbirds, finishing the day at 176 (86, 90).
The Thunderbirds will wrap up play tomorrow with just one round to play. The third and final round is set to start in shotgun fashion at 8:30 a.m. in St. George.
