Paul Peterson is in his first season on the Thunderbird staff.

Coach Peterson is a graduate of Boston College where he quarterbacked the Eagles to a pair of bowl victories and was his team’s MVP following the 2004 season. While at BC Coach Peterson earned a pair of Big East Conference Player of the Week awards and he was named MVP of the Continental Tire Bowl as well as the 2005 Boston College Person of the Year. A Recipient of the Boston College Senior Leadership Award, Peterson led the Eagles to a 12-2 record as a starter and he finished up second on the team’s career passing percentage list.

Prior to attending Boston College Coach Peterson earned JC Gridwire All-American and honorable mention academic all-America recognition at Snow College, where he was a two-time team captain as well as a two-time all-conference performer. As a sophomore at Snow Peterson led all NJCAA quarterbacks in passing yards and touchdowns.

After graduation from BC Peterson played for the Ottawa Renegades of the Canadian Football League before returning to Snow College, where in 1995 as quarterbacks coach he helped the Badgers to a 9-2 record, a No. 8 national ranking and a Top of the Mountain Bowl championship.

The following season he moved on to Brigham Young University, where he served as an offensive graduate assistant. In 2007 the Cougars posted an 11-2 overall mark and earned a final No. 15 ranking after claiming a Mountain West Conference title and a victory in the Las Vegas Bowl.

Coach Peterson is married to the former Meagan Davies. They are the parents of two sons, Owen Paul and Michael Thomas, better known as Mack.
