CEDAR CITY, Utah - The No. 18 Thunderbird gymnastics team will continue their season in Morgantown, West Virginia, in NCAA Regional competition. The Regional site was announced Monday afternoon.

This will be the fifth consecutive season the Thunderbirds have competed at an NCAA Regional.

The Thunderbirds are the third seed in a group that features No. 6 Alabama, No. 7 Michigan, No. 20 George Washington, No. 23 West Virginia (host) and No. 31 Kent State.

The Thunderbirds were the last team seeded in the selection process, which they earned by being the No. 18 team in the country.

SUU squared off against No. 7 Michigan earlier this season, scoring their highest road score ever in Ann Arbor with a 196.600.

The T-Birds are having one of their best seasons in the history of the program, setting a new school record of 197.025 and seeing a gymnast score the first perfect 10.000.

The Thunderbirds competed in Morgantown for Regionals during the 2010 campaign, where they also faced off against Michigan and Kent State.

Regionals will take place on April 1st with the top-two teams from each regional site earning the opportunity to compete for the National Championships. The event is scheduled for 4 p.m. local time, 2 p.m. Mountain Time.
