Men’s Golf Headed To Arizona

CEDAR CITY, Utah - With just two events on their schedule before the Big Sky Championships, the Thunderbird men’s golf team is headed to Phoenix, Arizona, to compete in the Grand Canyon University Invitational. 

 

Last Time Out

 

The Thunderbirds wrapped up competition at he 2017 Jackrabbit Invitational in eighth place. 

 

Christian Karren had his best finish as a Thunderbird at the event in Las Vegas, as he shot a 213 (71, 70, 72) to finish in 17th place. 

 

Fidel Concepcion finished just one shot behind Karren, shooting a 214 (72, 73, 69). Concepcion’s 69 was the lowest round a T-Bird shot at the event. 

 

Invitational Information 

 

The event hosted by Grand Canyon University will run from March 17-18. There will be a shotgun start on Friday and Saturday, with 36-holes to be played on the first day and 18 on the second. 

 

Southern Utah will be competing against 13 other teams in Phoenix: Loyola Marymount, Northern Illinois, Wichita State, Indiana, Utah Valley, South Dakota, Omaha, Bakersfield, UMKC, Columbia, Duke, Grand Canyon and Eastern Michigan.
