STANFORD, Calif. - Fidel Concepcion has completed 36 holes at Stanford Golf Course in Stanford, California, and sits with a score of 147 (75, 72) through two rounds.
Concepcion had a very strong start to his round on Tuesday.
He birdied the first hole of the day, and proceeded to par every other hole on the front nine. He went into the turn one-under with a 34.
Concepcion didn't have the best start to the back nine, carding a bogey on the 10th hole. After scoring a par on holes two, three and four, he had to count a double bogey on the 14th hole to bring his round score to two-over.
Concepcion was able to par the final four holes to bring his final score of the day to 72.
He ended the day in a tie for 55th with three other golfers at seven-over.
“Fidel had a really solid round today from tee to green,” SUU head coach Richard Church said. “He was able to make 15 pars and one birdie, and was able to roll his putter really well on Tuesday.”
Oklahoma's Brad Dalke posted the lowest score through two rounds, sitting at 11-under.
Baylor leads the team competition in Stanford, sitting at 542. The Stanford Cardinal are second with a 549.
Concepcion will tee off at 10:50 Mountain Time (9:50 PT) and will be playing with fellow Big Sky Conference competitor Devyn Fitchhorn from Sacramento State and Brian Humphreys from Boise State.
