Men’s Tennis Prepares for Doubleheader in Grand Forks

CEDAR CITY, Utah - Fresh off of a rough outing last weekend, the Southern utah men’s tennis team will be hitting the road once again this weekend for matchups with Big Sky opponent North Dakota (2-9) and Concordia College (1-4).
Previously on T-Bird Tennis
Last weekend the Thunderbirds were in Montana for two Big Sky matchups with Montana and Montana State.
The team was unable to pick up a point in either match falling to the Grizzlies 0-7 and the Bobcats 0-4. Freshmen Conor Tordoff and Cedric Rupa were the only doubles team to win a match defeating Montana’s Yannick Schmidl and Ignacio Tejerina 6-4.
Scouting Report: North Dakota Fighting Hawks
The Fighting Hawks will come into Friday’s match with a 2-9 overall record and a 1-5 record in Big Sky play. They picked up their first two wins of the season last weekend when they hosted Portland State and Augustana.
The Hawks are led by Dustin Britton in the No. 1 position. Britton hold a 4-7 record in the top singles spot for UND and also plays in the top doubles spot with Travis Lau.
Both matches will take place on Friday at the Choice Health & Fitness center in Grand Forks, North Dakota. The Thunderbirds will kick things off against the Fighting Hawks at 12:00 p.m. followed by their match with the Cobbers at 4:00 p.m.
