12 Mike Josserand

2007-08 Highlights: Played in all but one game (did not play at UMKC), with one start. Led team in assists and in steals six times. Came off the bench for his best effort of the season at Oakland where he finished with season-highs of seven points, five assists and three steals to go along with two rebounds while playing sticky defense on OU’s Johnathon Jackson. Scored just two points but they were key free throws down the stretch at Centenary, where he also had three assists and a pair of steals. Didn’t score but pulled down a career-high four rebounds at Oral Roberts, with an assist and a steal.

At Centennial High School: Earned first-team all-division honors his senior season at CHS when he averaged 16.1 points, 2.3 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game. Was also MVP of the Las Vegas Prep Classic after leading the Bulldogs to a tournament championship. Earned second-team all-division recognition his junior season.

Coach Reid On Mike: “Mike’s only a freshman but he has great basketball savvy. He’s played against some of the best high school teams in the country at various high-level tournaments. He is a true point guard who looks to make everyone on the team better. He’s a good passer who seems to have a sixth sense, he knows when to pass and when not to pass and he knows who to get the ball to. He does need to work on his defense and we’ll see how soon he develops the mental capacity to play at this level. He has the mental toughness but he will need to adjust to the step up in competition level. I think he’ll see a lot of time at point guard as a freshman.”
