Randy Onwuasor Named to NABC All-District Second Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced the 2016-17 NABC Division I All-District teams and coaches.

The NABC selected Southern Utah University's Randy Onwuasor to the District 6 Second Team.

Following his recognition, Onwuasor was named the Southern Utah University Athlete of the Week.

Onwuasor finished the season leading not only the Thunderbirds but the entire Big Sky Conference in scoring, averaging 23.6 points per game including a career-high 43 points against Montana State in round 1 of the Big Sky Tournament.

The Junior from Inglewood Calif. also led the Thunderbirds in rebounding, averaging 6.5 per game and assists with 3.2 per game.

“Randy had a great season for Thunderbird basketball. His recognition is an excellent reward for his hard work,” SUU head coach Todd Simon said. “We could not be more proud of him.”

Selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC in NCAA Division I, these student-athletes and coaches represent the finest basketball players and coaches across America.
