CEDAR CITY, Utah - Southern Utah University freshman cross country/track & field athlete Aidan Reed will be sporting his Team USA jersey for the first time in competition this weekend as he will be representing the United States of America at the 2017 NACAC (North American, Central American, Caribbean) Cross Country Championships.

The event will be ran in Boca Raton, Florida.

Reed is running for the Under 20 team that the USA has put together for the event. The T-Bird earned the right to compete in this event at the USATF XC Championships in Bend, Oregon, on February 4th after after running a 26:19.9 on the 8K course.

Reed is just one of six athletes from the United States that will be competing on this stage.

“To have our athletes continue to compete on the national and international stage will continue to build our profile and make us a force to be reckoned with at the NCAA level,” SUU head coach Eric Houle said about what it means to have Reed compete on this level.

The race will begin on Saturday at 9:40 a.m. EST and 7:40 a.m. MST.

Reed is also eligible to compete in the 2017 IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Uganda on March 26th.
