At SUU, 2008: Tallied 29 tackles from his defensive end position last year when he started all 11 games. Also had 6.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, broke up two passes and forced two fumbles, recovered a fumble, broke up a pass and blocked a kick.
At SUU, 2007: Played in eight games with seven starts until suffering a season-ending injury early in the game at North Dakota State; finished season with 32 tackles, including 16 solo stops, had three TFLs, two sacks, an intercpetion and broke up three passes. Had seven tackles at Youngstown State.
At SUU, 2006: Played in seven games as a true freshman at both linebacker and rush end, finished the season with nine tackles, eight solo, with two tackles for losses. Best game was at McNeese State where he recorded five solo tackles.
Personal: Prepped at Cedar High School where he earned all-state and all-region honors as a tight end following his senior season when he helped the Redmen to an undefeated regular-season record. Finished his senior year with over 600 receiving yards and four touchdowns, also tallied 30 tackles with a pair of sacks and four PBUs his senior year for Coach Todd Peacock. Also lettered in basketball for the Redmen. Wife is Brittany, parents are Mary Ellen and John Westwood. His sister, Anne, played basketball for the Thunderbirds from 2005 to 2009. Majoring in accounting. Served an LDS church mission to Eugene, Oregon.
