Saturday's game will feature a Thunderbirds team fresh off a disappointing loss on the road last week at Utah Tech. The Thunderbirds had plenty of offense but struggled to keep the Trailblazers out of the endzone in the 48-36 loss. The T-Birds offense has scored 30 or more points in consecutive games and has reached the mark five times this season, including two contests in which Southern Utah scored 40 or more points.

The Oaklanders are coming off their second win this season, a 20-17 battle with Division II Bluefield State University. The other win on the year for Lincoln came when they shut out Hilbert College, a Division III school, 70-0. Southern Utah and Lincoln have had one common opponent this season, St. Thomas University. The Thunderbirds took down the Tommies in the season opener in Cedar City 44-13, and St. Thomas later beat the Oaklanders 43-6.

The Southern Utah offense has been led by Isaiah Wooden who has nearly 800 yards receiving this season to go along with his 153 yards rushing and combined 8 touchdowns. Justin Miller has thrown for 2459 yards this season with 15 passing touchdowns. The majority of the rushing yards for the T-Birds have gone to Braedon Wissler who has 344 and a touchdown. Isaiah Williams has the most rushing touchdowns with four.

Rodrick Ward leads the team in pass break-ups with 11 and interceptions with three from the defensive back position. Freshman linebacker Kohner Cullimore leads the team with 75 total tackles. The graduate defensive lineman Zach Strand has been an anchor up front with 26 tackles and 7.5 tackles for a loss. Strand also leads the team with two fumble recoveries.

The Oaklanders have had a few different quarterbacks this season, the most consistent of which is Rhett Riley. Lincoln's offense is based on the running game. They have used several different running backs, a few of which have secured 100-yard games this season. One of the top targets for the Oaklanders this season has been Trey Dimmings, a deep ball receiver. The top defensive player for Lincoln over the last few games has been Nick Patterson. Patterson has tallied 48 tackles this season including 3.5 tackles for a loss. Trayvion Davies has gathered up a team-leading two interceptions on the year. The sacks leader for Lincoln this season is Marquise Greenwood with three.

The Thunderbirds look to snap a stretch of losses as they take on the Oaklanders this Saturday. The game is set to kick off at 1:00 PM and can be seen on ESPN+ or listen live on KSUB.
