CEDAR CITY, Utah – Southern Utah running back Joshua Dye has been named the United Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week following his dominant performance in the Thunderbirds' 28-7 victory over Utah Tech on Saturday night in the Battle for the Ax. It marks the second time this season that Dye has earned the conference's Offensive Player of the Week honor. He was also recognized nationally, earning an honorable mention for the Stats Perform FCS National Offensive Player of the Week.

"Josh continues to prove he's one of the best running backs in the conference. His work ethic on and off the field is impressive. He's been consistent, explosive, and tough, and we're proud of the way he's helping to lead our offense right now."
Dye powered Southern Utah's offense with a career-best outing, rushing for 204 yards and three touchdowns on just 24 carries. The junior averaged an impressive 8.5 yards per attempt and broke free for a highlight-reel 92-yard touchdown run — the longest play from scrimmage for the Thunderbirds this season. He also added one reception for ten yards in the win.
With his performance, Dye remains one of the top running backs in the nation, ranking third in the FCS in total rushing yards (1,166) and first across all of Division I football with 18 rushing touchdowns.
Dye's 18 touchdowns this season also place him in a tie for fifth all-time in the SUU record book for most touchdowns in a single season. He continues to climb the ranks of Southern Utah's single-season rushing leaders with four games left to play in the regular season.
