At SUU, 2008: Carried 45 times for 160 yards and a touchdown, also had two receptions for 25 yards.  Best game was the season-finale against Northern Iowa when he carried 21 times for 71 yards, both season-highs. Joined the Thunderbirds for spring ball 2008. Was the leading rusher and receiver in the 2008 Red/White Scrimmage, picking up 48 yards on 17 carries and catching two passes for another 18. Sat out the 2009 spring game with a minor injury.

At North Carolina State: Spent two seasons with the Wolfpack.

Personal: Prepped at Leesville Road HS in Raleigh, N.C., where he was a three-year letterwinner for Coach Larry Junkin. Rushed for over 1,500 yards his senior season when he totaled over 2,300 all-purpose yards, also tallied over 100 tackles on the defensive side of the ball. Earned all-conference recognition at both running back and linebacker in his junior and senior years. Helped team to a region runner-up finish his junior season and served as a team captain as a senior. Mother is Joan Apilli. Majoring in physical education and exercise science.
